Search settings
Set the default settings to use in part and keyword searches for this and future BOM Intelligence sessions.
Set the manner in which results are displayed, including the fields displayed, how results are sorted, the number of results per page, and the matching algorithm for keywords and part numbers.
Specify display criteria for alternate parts.
Set search results
- In the top right corner, click Settings (
) > Search settings. - Using the Search Settings>Default Options page, select from the following options:
- Simple and Advanced Part Search Type - specify the following:
-whether to ignore special characters (~ $ ` ' @ % ^ & ( ) - _ = { } \ [ ] : ; < > / " ? .),
-whether keyword searches should match any, all, or exact,
-whether part # searches match the start, contains, or exact, and
-whether to search by Object ID, which appears as an ObjectID Search radio button in both the Quick Search and in the Part Search window when this option is enabled in the Search Settings window. The ObjectID is a unique identifier for a part record. The ObjectID appears in the Part Details window and in some exports and reports. - Qualifications - specify whether parts comply with the global standard from the Automotive Electronics Council that defines stress resistance for passive electronic components, or with the Defense Logistics Agency criteria.
- Results Grid Type - whether part numbers or attributes are displayed as rows in the data grid search results. For example, if Parts viewed as rows is selected, each row applies to a single part number, with attributes appearing in subsequent columns. Transposing the view by selecting Parts viewed as columns and attributes viewed as rows flips the view, with each row applying to an attribute and each column to a part number. This setting applies to the Part Search and Parametric Search results.
- Results Column Layout View - a predefined row and column selection to apply to the search results data grid. Options include the following:
- Accuris Defined:
Default - high-level part and manufacturer information. Where your selected layout was a custom layout and it was subsequently deleted, Default is automatically applied as your selected layout;
Life Cycle - years to end of life, life cycle, last time buy, and manufacturer support information;
Environmental - EU/China RoHS, REACH, full material disclosure and conflict minerals data;
Combined - all columns from all Accuris-defined layouts; - My Layouts - Custom part search result layouts that you created, listed alphabetically.
- Shared Layouts - Custom part search result layouts created by another BOM Intelligence user in your account group, and shared with other BOM Intelligence users.
- Pagination - the number of search results to display in a given page.
- CPL Search Results - select whether to identify parts that are in your CPL that match parts in the Accuris Parts database. Search results that are generated using a simple part search, advanced parts search, or parametric search, as well as the
.
Click to display Corporate Part Number Data in the Part Details modal window. - Distributor Information - set the default that limits the distributor sources to either distributors who work directly with the manufacturer to procure and sell parts, or to include distributors who may not have an explicit agreement to resell certain parts, or who may have procured the parts from other sources.
- Default Alternate Types - select from the following options:
- Form/Fit/Functional (FFF) - Form, fit, and functional (drop-in) alternates as identified by component engineers through detailed analysis of device characteristics;
- Functional (F=) - Functionally equivalent alternates with the same functionality, but that may have a different fit or form;
- Close - Alternate parts where some variable attributes fall within a similar range to the original part.
- Closer - Alternate parts where all variable attributes fall within a similar range to the original part.
- Closest - Alternate parts where all variable attributes match the original part exactly.
- Click Save Changes.
