Attributes
Using the Attributes tab of the View Single BOM page, edit the attributes of a BOM that you imported.
- Using the BOM Vault, click the BOM name that appears in the BOM Name column of the BOM Vault (View All BOMs) data grid, or the BOM Name in the BOM Tree in order to display the BOM Details.
- Click the Attributes tab, click Edit Attributes in the top-right of the tab, and then change BOM details according to the following guidelines:
- BOM Name - type the desired name and any details about the BOM. The file name cannot be blank, and it cannot be Vault.
- Import Attributes - view import details, select a different owner from the drop-down list, and type a description as desired.
- Custom Attributes - populate the custom fields that were created using the
> Custom Attributes option. The character criteria required for each custom field appear below the text box where you type the details.
- Matching Options - toggle only one of the following check boxes for a matching option. When an option below is selected, reprocess your BOMs:
- CPL Matching Options -
- Match BOM Internal Part Number to CPL Corporate Part Number. BOM Intelligence assigns the related info code c to the match. This option can be selected along with the second and third options below, but it is disabled if you select the fourth option below.
- Match BOM Imported MFR P/N and Imported Mfr Name to CPL Mfr P/N and Mfr Name. BOM Intelligence assigns the related info code p to the match. This option can be selected along with the first and third options, but it is disabled if you select the fourth option below.
- Match BOM Matched Mfr P/N and Matched Mfr Name to CPL Matched Mfr P/N and Matched Mfr Name. BOM Intelligence assigns the related info code m to the match. This option can be selected along with the first and second options above, but it is disabled if you select the fourth option below.
- Match BOM Imported Mfr P/N and Imported Mfr Name to CPL Corporate Part Number and Corporate Name. BOM Intelligence assigns the related info code a to the match. This option is disabled if you select one of the above.
- Optional Attributes - type an email address and phone number, or overwrite existing information. Click X to the right of existing information to remove it.

Use Internal Part Number to Build AML | Imported BOMs can have AML options enabled by selecting the Use Internal Part Number to Build AML check box, which appears in the Select Import Options modal window. When this option is enabled for a BOM, alternate parts can be added to the BOM, and AML Risk Scores appear in both the BOM Details and the Alerts datagrids. |
Match all Manufacturer Parts | To create multiple BOM records of all manufacturer parts that match your imported manufacturer part number. Multiple records need to be manually reviewed to accept a suggested match. |
Auto Part Match | To use a matching algorithm that alternately strips characters from the front and back-end of your imported part number to retrieve a database record with an 85% match of the remaining characters in the part number. For example, an imported part number with only five characters that is stripped of one character in this matching algorithm results in only being able to match 80% (4 of 5 characters). This part number then results in an unmatched record because it does not meet the 85% matching requirement. |
Global (default selection) | To match manufacturers and part numbers in your BOM import file to mappings that were globally accepted during the exception matching process of all BOM import files that you have access to under your user group. |
List | To match manufacturers and part numbers in your BOM import file to mappings that were accepted as part of the exception matching process for your specific BOM import file only. |
At least one of the knowledge base settings (Global or List) must be enabled. Where this information is changed, the Reprocessing Required () button appears in the View All BOMs data grid, which you click to reprocess the BOM.
- In the Smart Alerts pane, hover the cursor over View/Manage to display the email addresses of Smart Alerts subscribers and the Smart Alert attributes to which they are subscribed.
- Click View/Manage to display the Select Smart Alerts modal window where you add and remove email address, or Smart Alerts criteria for BOM users based on the following:
- End of Life Notices - alerts detail parts that are being phased out of the supply chain.
- Parts Status Changes
Part Status Value Description Active The part is listed as Active by the manufacturer. Active-Unconfirmed Accuris is unable to definitively confirm that the part status is still active due to lack of part status information from the manufacturer. These parts present an increased risk of obsolescence. Contact Mfr Accuris has not confirmed the status of this part with the manufacturer. EOL The status of the part is EOL. Typically this indicates that a LTB date, LTD date, PDN, or EOL notice has been communicated by the manufacturer. NRFND The status of the part is listed as NRFND. This status is typically communicated by the manufacturer. Discontinued The status of the part is discontinued. Parts with an EOL status and a LTB date that has expired are changed to discontinued status. Manufacturers may still discontinue parts without any notice. Discontinued-Unconfirmed Accuris believes the status of this part is discontinued but has not confirmed this information with the manufacturer. Transferred The part has been transferred from one manufacturer to another. - Product Change Notices - alerts detail material or process changes to parts, and the date changes will be implemented. They may also contain information about the last available time to buy the part.
- Product Failure / Counterfeit Notices - alerts detail counterfeit part and risk information, or other information about a device failure.
-
Supply Chain Notices - Information regarding drastic changes to parts pricing and availability, enabling you to identify risk around average lead time, price, and total inventory. Where the difference between the selected item differs by more than 10% in either direction daily, BOM Intelligence sends an email notification and .csv file for the impacted parts to recipients you specify.
Supply chain notification
Because different SCN criteria can be selected for the same part at the BOM level, notices may include the same part for multiple notices where the same part exists in multiple BOMs, or for one BOM but not another BOM even though the part exists in both BOMs.
For example, if the same part is included in multiple BOMs, but Total Inventory SCN is selected for one BOM and Average Lead Time SCN is selected in the other, a Total Inventory SCN Smart Alert will trigger notification in the first instance, but not in the second.
- To remove an email address, select the check box to the left of it in the data grid and click Remove.
- BOM Import Configuration - the initial selections are as they were set when the BOM was imported. Toggle the check boxes for each of the items:
- Click Save Changes to update the attribute information.
The changes are applied and you are returned to the Attributes tab with edit mode disabled.
OR
Click Reprocess BOM.
The Reprocess BOM modal window appears.
Click Yes, reprocess this BOM.
The changes are applied and you are returned to the View All BOMs (Bill of Materials) page. If the Reprocessing Required () indicator appears in the BOM Info column of the BOM that you just reprocessed above, press F5 to refresh the page and the reprocess indicator disappears.
To revert any changes made, click Reset. You are returned to the View Attributes page with the default values displayed.
