BOM View: Custom layouts
Create and manage custom layouts that define the columns, and the order in which those columns appear in the data grid of both the View Single BOM: Details pane and in the BOM Tree Parts pages.
Providing that the CPL feature is enabled in your BOM Intelligence implementation and that CPL data is loaded, CPL attributes appear in the Manage Custom Layouts for BOM Details shade. Select CPL options in order to display those attributes when viewing BOM details.

- Using either the View Single BOM: BOM Details tab, or the BOM Tree Parts window, click Layout > Manage Layouts in the toolbar above the data grid.
The Manage Custom Layouts for BOM Details shade appears.
- Using the Select Custom Layout drop-down list, select Create New Custom Layout.
The Enter New Name field appears.
- To create a layout, select fields in the Available Attributes pane on the left. Click the following controls that appear between the Available Attributes pane and the Selected Attributes pane:
- move individual or multiple items between the two panes. Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click for multiple selection.
- move all of the items from one pane to the other.
The Matched P/N attribute is required and cannot be removed from the Selected Attributes pane. The order in which the column appears can be changed using the step below.
Add Internal P/N, Imported P/N, and Imported Mfr to ensure that pre-defined hyperlinks to specific listings of parts show rows that include data.

Layouts include both default layouts (Environmental, Import, Life Cycle, etc.), and custom layouts that you create using the Manage Layouts option available in the Layout menu.
Using either the View Single BOM: BOM Details tab, or the BOM Tree Parts windows, click Layout in the toolbar above the results grid, followed by your desired layout.

Use an existing layout as a starting point for a new one. Delete custom layouts you created to reduce the volume of items to manage.
- Using either the View Single BOM: BOM Details tab, or the BOM Tree Parts windows, click Layout > Manage Layouts in the toolbar above the data grid.
The Manage Custom Layouts for BOM Details shade appears.
- Using the Select Custom Layout drop-down list, select either type of layout:
- A default layout template (Environmental, Life cycle, etc.) - these are the templates that shipped with BOM Intelligence, and they cannot be overwritten, however, you can select them to display their attributes, change the attributes included and the order in which they appear, and then save the template using a new name.
- A custom layout you created - these templates can be modified and saved with a new name, the original can be overwritten, or the custom layout can be deleted.
- Click the following that appear between the Available Attributes pane and the Selected Attributes pane:
- move individual or multiple items between the two panes. Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click for multiple selection.
- move all of the items from one pane to the other.
Custom attributes defined using the > Custom Attributes option appear providing the BOM Details check box is selected in the Custom Attributes for Imported BOMs section.
- Select one or more items in the Selected Attributes pane (Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click for multiple selection), and then click
and
to change the order in which those attribute columns appear in the data grid.
- Select either Save Changes, or Save As New.
The Save Changes option is only available for custom layouts you created, and after at least one item has been moved from the Available Attributes pane to the Selected Attributes pane.
Using the Save As New option modal window, under the existing custom layout name, type the desired name for the custom layout, and then click Save New Custom Layout.
Where the name of the custom layout already exists in BOM Intelligence, (2) (or the next incremental number) is appended to the file name.
- Click Delete to remove the custom layout.
The Delete option is only available for custom layouts you created. You cannot delete default layouts, or custom layouts created by other BOM Intelligence users.
Click either Okay, delete selected layout to remove it, or click Cancel, do not delete to return to the Manage Custom Layouts for BOM Details window without deleting the custom layout.
