Risk Information
Accuris provides detailed risk scoring information on part obsolescence, environmental / material factors, and supply chain.

Obsolescence management can reduce the risk of acquiring counterfeit electronic parts. Accuris provides life cycle risk scoring to help you proactively manage the life cycle of parts.
The life cycle risk score is calculated using information from the part status attribute.
Score | Definition |
---|---|
Low | Part status is Active. |
Med | Part status is Active-Unconfirmed, NRFND, Contact-Mfr, or Transferred. |
High |
Part status is EOL or Discontinued. |
The life cycle risk score links to information on the following attributes:
Life cycle attribute | |
---|---|
Life cycle stage | A textual representation of the life cycle stage of a part. Values are Introduction, Growth, Mature, Phase-Out, and Discontinued. |
Availability YTEOL | Indicator for the availability of a part defined as a range of years. The Years to End of Life YTEOL appears as a text string using greater than and less than indicators. |
Smart Alert prediction date | Indicates when the life cycle information for this manufacturer and technology group was last predicted. Parts and Manufacturers have different review cycles based upon several factors such as how the part is classified. |
Life cycle information source | Identifies the source of the life cycle information. Values can be IHS, IHS/Manufacturer, and Manufacturer. |
Life cycle code | A numerical code from 1 to 5 that correlates to the Life Cycle Stage. A value of 1 indicates Introduction and a value of 5 indicates Discontinued. |
Estimated YTEOL | A numerical representation for estimated years to end of life as of the Smart Alert prediction date. |
Current Estimated YTEOL | A numerical representation for estimated years to end of life calculated using a combination of Estimated YTEOL+ Smart Alert prediction date+ Current date. This attribute is only calculated for parts that have both estimated YTEOL and life cycle prediction data values. |

To determine the Supply Chain Risk Score, an Average Lead Time in weeks is calculated for the part if there are individual lead times from authorized distributors.
Score | Definition |
---|---|
Low | Average Lead Time from authorized distributors for this part is 8 weeks or less. A low amount of supply chain risk is associated with this status. |
Low-Med | Average Lead Time from authorized distributors for this part is between 8 and 16 weeks. If Average Lead Time is unknown, the supply chain risk is based on the active status of the part and the availability of active alternates from other manufacturers (MS). |
Med |
Average Lead Time from authorized distributors for this part is between 16 and 24 weeks. If Average Lead Time is unknown, the supply chain risk is based on the active status of the part and the lack of active alternates from other manufacturers (SS). |
Med-High | Average Lead Time from authorized distributors for this part is between 24 and 32 weeks. If Average Lead Time is unknown, the supply chain risk is based on the NRFND part status. |
High |
Average Lead Time from authorized distributors for this part is greater than 32 weeks. If Average Lead Time is unknown, the supply chain risk is based on the EOL part status. |
N/A | The supply chain risk score is not populated (blank) for parts that do not have an average lead time and their part status is not active, NRFND, or EOL. |
The supply chain risk score also links to information on the following attributes:
Supply chain attribute | |
---|---|
Alternative Part Options | Yes indicates that there are active alternates (crosses) for each part. No indicates that there are no active alternates for the part. There may be alternates that are discontinued. This information may be useful if you have access to excess inventory for the discontinued alternates. |
Distributor Info Available | Yes indicates that Accuris is receiving pricing and availability information for this part. No indicates that Accuris is currently not receiving any distributor information on this part. |
Active Mfrs | A count of the number of manufacturers in the database that have an active part number that matches. This information is very useful when researching industry standard part numbers. |
Active Generics | Number of active parts in the database that have the same generic part number. This information is very useful when researching parts with industry standard generic numbers. |
Supply chain risk scores also provide access to the following Export Compliance attributes:
Export compliance attributes | |
---|---|
HTS Code | Harmonized Tariff Schedule Code used to classify goods. A 10-digit code assigned to all commodities imported into the United States. Based on the 2-, 4-, and 6-digit headings and subheadings of the international Harmonized Systems. |
SB Code | Schedule B Export Codes. A 10-digit commodity code based upon the 4- and 6-digit headings and subheadings of the international Harmonized Systems |
ECCN | Export Control Classification Number assigned by the U.S. Department of Commerce, BIS in the CCL. This a fundamental designation indicating the level of control for an item. Items that are not classified under an ECCN are designated as "EAR99". |
ECCN governance | Export Control Classification Number governance as defined in Section 3 of the US Government's Commerce Control List. |

The Environmental / Material risk score is calculated using information from the following attributes:
- EU RoHS Compliant
- China RoHS Compliant
- REACH Compliant
- Existence of FMD information
Score | Definition |
---|---|
Low | If a part is EU RoHS Compliant, REACH Compliant, has FMD information, and China RoHS Compliant is not set to NO, then the score is set to Low. |
Med | If the part has environmental information that does not meet the conditions for a low or high score, then the value of the part's score is set to Medium (Med). |
High | If a part is not EU RoHS Compliant or it is not REACH Compliant, and there is no FMD information, then the score is set to High. |
A value of N/A, indicates that there is no environmental information on the part.
The Environmental / Material risk score provides access to the summary environmental information listed below:
Environmental / material attribute | |
---|---|
EU RoHS Compliant |
YES indicates that the manufacturer represents the device as being compliant with the RoHS directive. RoHS is a directive of the European Union (EU) concerning the elimination of various materials from products. NO indicates that the part is not compliant. Where not compliant, if an alternate part that is compliant exists in the database, a hyperlink to the part details for that part appears in the Compliant Alternate row. Where a hyperlink value appears in the Exemptions row, click to display the RoHS-Exemptions.pdf file. |
5/6 Compliant | YES indicates that the manufacturer represents that the part is "RoHS 5 of 6 Compliant" but is not completely RoHS complaint due to the non-exempt presence of lead (Pb) in an amount greater than that allowed by the RoHS directive. |
China RoHS Compliant | Identifies if the part is compliant to the environmental restrictions outlined in China's Administrative Measure on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products law. |
REACH Compliant | Identifies if the part contains > 0.1% w/w of any SVHC on the ECHA's Candidate List of SVHCs as of the date shown in the REACH Candidate List. |
REACH Candidate List | Identifies the revision date of the ECHA's List of Candidate SVHCs. This version of the list was used to set the value of the REACH Compliant attribute. |
FMD Material Exist | Indicates if full material disclosure data exist for the part. |

Score | Definition |
---|---|
High | orange |
Low | green |
Med | blanched almond |

Part status values relate to life cycle stages, and reflect the growing or declining use of a part.
Part Status Value | Description |
---|---|
Active | The part is listed as Active by the manufacturer |
Active-Unconfirmed | Accuris is unable to definitively confirm that the part status is still active due to lack of part status information from the manufacturer. These parts present an increased risk of obsolescence. |
Contact Mfr | Accuris has not confirmed the status of this part with the manufacturer. |
EOL | The status of the part is EOL. Typically this indicates that a LTB date, LTD date, PDN, or EOL notice has been communicated by the manufacturer. |
NRFND | The status of the part is listed as NRFND. This status is typically communicated by the manufacturer. |
Discontinued | The status of the part is discontinued. Parts with an EOL status and a LTB date that has expired are changed to discontinued status. Manufacturers may still discontinue parts without any notice. |
Discontinue-Unconfirmed | Accuris believes the status of this part is discontinued but has not confirmed this information with the manufacturer. |
Transferred | The part has been transferred from one manufacturer to another. |
