View Smart Alerts by BOM
BOM Intelligence has all Smart Alert information for parts. It provides automatic emails alerting you to part changes, end of life notices, product changes, and more.
This workflow provides you with a BOM-centric view of alerts. To use an Smart Alert-centric workflow that shows a list of BOMs affected by a particular Smart Alert, refer to View Alerts by ID.

Using the SMART ALERTSoption in the main menu, or the Alerts panel () on the Home page, quickly jump to a particular view.
View alerts based on the following criteria. Each of these views are similar to the option All, but include an Smart Alert Date column to the left of the BOM Owner column. For each of these selections except the Today filter, you can change the filter applied by clicking the Smart Alert Date drop down button and then specifying a date range:
- Today - similar to the option All, but includes an Smart Alert Date column to the left of the BOM Owner column and limits the display to alerts within the last 24 hours.
- Last 7 Days - as above, includes an Smart Alert Date column to the left of the BOM Owner column. Results are filtered so that only alerts that occurred within the last seven days appear.
- Last 30 Days - as above, includes an Smart Alert Date column to the left of the BOM Owner column. Results are filtered so that only alerts that occurred within the last 30 days appear.
- Last 6 Months - as above, an Smart Alert Date column to the left of the BOM Owner column. Results are filtered so that only alerts that occurred within the last 6 months appear.
- Last Year - as above, an Smart Alert Date column to the left of the BOM Owner column. Results are filtered so that only alerts that occurred within the last 365 days appear.
- View All My Alerts - filter alerts to show only those that are owned by the logged in user.

Change the status of the selected Smart Alert(s) to show how the Smart Alert affects the BOM. The status of that Smart Alert for other parts affected by it on the BOM automatically changes. Smart Alert status can only be changed by the owner of the BOM or the Group Administrator user. Once specified, you can filter on this column by clicking the Filter by Status option in the data grid toolbar.
- With the Smart Alert(s) selected in the Part Alerts tab of the View Single BOM window, click Set Smart Alert Status in the data grid toolbar and select from the following options:
- New - Smart Alert recently issued by the manufacturer.
- Open - currently being reviewed for impacts.
- Reviewed - the Smart Alert has been reviewed, and steps to address the issue have been taken.
- Archived - the Smart Alert is old and possibly no longer relevant.
- Click Apply Smart Alert Status, and then click OK to dismiss the confirmation window and accept the action.
Or click Cancel to abandon the changes.

- Email Organization - we can group BOM impacts together or send one email for each BOM.
- Receive Alerts for - whether to receive alerts for preferred and non-preferred parts, or just for preferred parts.
- Included Alert Types - select the event types for which to receive Smart Alerts. These are the same options that can be configured for other users when importing a BOM, and are as follows:
- End of Life Notices - alerts detail parts that are being phased out of the supply chain.
- Parts Status Changes
Part Status Value Description Active The part is listed as Active by the manufacturer. Active-Unconfirmed Accuris is unable to definitively confirm that the part status is still active due to lack of part status information from the manufacturer. These parts present an increased risk of obsolescence. Contact Mfr Accuris has not confirmed the status of this part with the manufacturer. EOL The status of the part is EOL. Typically this indicates that a LTB date, LTD date, PDN, or EOL notice has been communicated by the manufacturer. NRFND The status of the part is listed as NRFND. This status is typically communicated by the manufacturer. Discontinued The status of the part is discontinued. Parts with an EOL status and a LTB date that has expired are changed to discontinued status. Manufacturers may still discontinue parts without any notice. Discontinued-Unconfirmed Accuris believes the status of this part is discontinued but has not confirmed this information with the manufacturer. Transferred The part has been transferred from one manufacturer to another. - Product Change Notices - alerts detail material or process changes to parts, and the date changes will be implemented. They may also contain information about the last available time to buy the part.
- Product Failure / Counterfeit Notices - alerts detail counterfeit part and risk information, or other information about a device failure.
-
Supply Chain Notices - Information regarding drastic changes to parts pricing and availability, enabling you to identify risk around average lead time, price, and total inventory. Where the difference between the selected item differs by more than 10% in either direction daily, BOM Intelligence sends an email notification and .csv file for the impacted parts to recipients you specify.
Supply chain notification
Because different SCN criteria can be selected for the same part at the BOM level, notices may include the same part for multiple notices where the same part exists in multiple BOMs, or for one BOM but not another BOM even though the part exists in both BOMs.
For example, if the same part is included in multiple BOMs, but Total Inventory SCN is selected for one BOM and Average Lead Time SCN is selected in the other, a Total Inventory SCN Smart Alert will trigger notification in the first instance, but not in the second.
