European Union Persistent Organic Pollutants

The purpose of this regulation is to eliminate or restrict the production and use of chemicals with long-term environmental and health impacts. Also to reduce bio-accumulation in the food chain and comply with international environmental agreements. These regulations implement the Stockholm Convention, addressing production, use, and disposal of POPs.

• European Union member states.

• Countries adhering to the Stockholm Convention (globally over 180 nations).
