Potential replacement parts that meet another part’s technical specifications. Alternate types include:

• Form/Fit/Functional (FFF) - Form, fit, and functional (drop-in) alternates as identified by component engineers through detailed analysis of device characteristics;
• Functional (F=) - Functionally equivalent alternates with the same functionality, but that may have a different fit or form;
• Close: Alternate parts where some variable attributes fall within a similar range to the original part.
• Closer: Alternate parts where all variable attributes fall within a similar range to the original part.
• Closest: Alternate parts where all variable attributes match the original part exactly.
